About

The society was set up partly by Philip Dawson of W. C. Dawson & Son Estate Agents and Surveyors in the early 1970’s who initially, developed the 18 one-bedroomed self-contained apartments and 32 two-bedroomed self-contained apartments at the Castle Hall Close development adjacent Cheethams Park where there was originally run-down terraced housing.  A further site was developed on the Mottram/Broadbottom border at Home Farm Avenue/Hill End Lane which was later purchased in its entirety by the occupiers under the Margaret Thatcher’s Right to Buy scheme.  In the mid-1980’s, 38 one-bedroomed self-contained apartments were built in Godley on The Woodlands development.  .
